Thankful Thursday ~ Always Something New

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.” ~ Psalm 28:7 (ESV)

As I had mentioned yesterday in my post “Fear of Change” God has been working on my heart — I don’t seem to mind changes as much as I used to…One thing I know for sure though, just like David pointed out in the above Psalm “The Lord is my strength…”.

In going with my theme for this year, the changes that happening currently in my life, I face fearlessly (most days). We are having changes again at my work, but this time I am thrilled!!!! We are getting a wonderful, knowledgeable supervisor in our region. I am really excited to work with her; she has taught me so much when I went through training 2 1/2 years ago. Also God answered my prayer for help with my work-load. We were able to hire another person who has worked previously for the company and knows all the ins-and-outs. The best part – she is a believer (God you are marvelous!!!!!)…

The second change that is happening I am thankful for this week has to do with LWG. My sweet friend Lori from Lori’s Reflections redesigned out devotional blog. The launch is on March 1st!!! I am so excited about the new design. Lori did an awesome job. I hope that you will take some time next week to explore our redesigned team blog. There will also be a drawing of a neat little price. But you have to stop by to find out what…Lori, thank you from the bottom of my heart to make the change happen — it was time after 3 1/2 years :)…

One other change that I am making (something I wanted to do for a long time), I will have on the first of every month a guest blogger at “Grace Alone…”. This upcoming Monday, Kathy Howard will stop by to introduce her new book “God’s Truth Revealed“. I am excited about the opportunity to have Kathy share her ministry with my readers.

So, what are you thankful for this week? Please do share with us by leaving your link below.

Thank you for stopping by today. Remember: Even thought life can change, God never changes!!!

  1. I have been one of those people who fought against change my whole life. I am not sure why. Maybe it is just plain old fear of the unknown. But as I have grown older I find that I am FINALLY on the bandwagon, haha. Your changes all sound wonderful. How exciting for you. I look forward to the unveiling of Laced with Grace. Hugs, Debbie

  2. Thank you for your very encouraging sharing! It is so timely as I too have been experiencing great challenges in my life recently and the Lord has been my strength. I know I would never have make it without Him holding me tightly! Thank God He is with us always!

Thank God for His blessings on you and working things out wonderfully through all the changing scenes in life. May He keep you in His love and His joy continue to be your strength daily. Thanks for hosting Thankful Thursday. It is my joy to participate this week after a long absence due to weak health. Praise God. Take care.

    Warm Regards,

  7. I am excited also for the new design change (I prayed this morning it would all go smoothly, ha). Awesome can’t wait to hear from Kathy Howard!! Change is hard for anyone. Have a great day my friend.

  8. Iris, sounds like you have some really good changes coming along. Glad you’re getting some help with your work load. And very excited to see the new devotional site. Thanks so much for hosting TT. My life is changed because of it! Blessings on your day. Mary

  9. I love these changes and I’m so glad your new supervisor is a believer. Yay God! I look forward to reading Kathy’s post and I’m so glad Lori is working on this new design for Laced with Grace.

Here’s to Living Fearlessly …with God.

Love you and praying for you friend,
    Debbie

  10. What wonderful things the Lord is doing for you! It just brings tears to my eyes when I think of how big this world is, and yet God cares about the smallest details in each of our individual lives! I love that so many of us take time to thank Him, and give Him the honor and praise that He deserves! TO GOD BE THE GLORY, GREAT THINGS HE HATH DONE!

I know having a new christian co-worker at work who already knows basically what to do, has got to be just an amazing blessing! More than words can say. Back when I worked, I had some co-workers who just drained the life out of me everyday and made it to where I dreaded going into work. It’s so nice when you have one who shares your faith and is a joy to work around!

I can’t wait to see the new design! I guess I had better take some time to go check out the old one!

  11. Exciting to hear your EXCITEMENT…. 🙂 Looking forward to reading your guest as well!

I like to consider change as a new adventure….

    Hugs,
    Holly

  12. Iris – it is exciting and encouraging to see what the Lord is doing in your life as you rest in Him. He always does more than we can think or imagine. I am so glad for you.

  13. Awesome news, Iris! I’m so so thrilled about your work situation. I know that’s been a concern for you.

And of course I’m excited about the LWG redesign! I need to update my bio. I think it’s pretty old. Probably my picture, too. : )

And Kathy Howard….awesome! I’m reviewing her new Bible study. The publisher just sent it to me the beginning of the week.

Have a blessed weekend, my friend.

  14. Thank you for hosting Thankful Thursday, Iris, and I am encouraged by your posts about change. Life has been a little “active” this week because our daughter and her family are moving, (not far), but it gives me more time to watch our granddaughter and less time to blog. I hope to read more of the TT posts in the days ahead.
    Blessings to you,
    Laurie
