Thankful Thursday ~ Relationships

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
(Philippians 2:3-4 ESV)

I have learned over last year that a good relationships starts with God and me. You can say that the words of Paul in Philippians 2:3-4 have become my theme. If I put the needs of others before my own, good relationships can become great.

I also have learned that without God’s help, I am a weak friend. If I try to put others first, but grumble about it, it does me no good. I have to see everything and every relationship through God’s eyes.

I am very thankful this week that God has been very patient with me teaching me the need to stay close to His Word and how to create great relationships.

Lord of Heaven and Earth. Thank You for Your guidance with all my relationships, especially the one with You. Lord, if I don’t put my own interests first, I can see people through Your eyes. I continue to look to You to develop great relationships with the people that I come in contact with. In the precious name of Jesus ~ Amen

  1. Yesterday could have been a trying day, but I made an intentional decision; I refused to yield my blessing. When you wrote, “I have learned over last year that a good relationships starts with God and me” I was reminded that when I surrender, that’s all I have to do. He is patient. He is kind. He is steadfast. All we have to do is submit.
Thank you for sharing your heart, and for hosting Thankful Thursday.
    Peace and good to you.

  7. I am so thankful for relationships too Iris. First of all, my relationship with Christ. And then the amazing people He brings into my life. So glad we got to meet in person and one of these days I hope to do that again.
