Thankful Thursday ~ Journal

Ponder the path of your feet;
then all your ways will be sure.
(Proverbs 4:26 ESV)

I have to admit, I am not good at keeping a journal. I started a new journal last week, and so far I have written in it every day. I know it seems not long, but believe me this is long for me. I usually I give up after a couple of days. Not that I don’t like to write, but I normally do not make time for it.

My friend Debbie from Heart Choices, has been keeping journals for a long time. Honestly, I wish I had been writing in journals over the past 50 years. So much has happened and it would have been great to look back. But I guess I have things written on my heart.

So I hope for my own sake, I keep up with this current journal. It really helps me to organize my scattered brain and helps me to get things accomplished. It also helps me to get rid of some thoughts that clog my brain and helps me sleep. Maybe I should keep the journal by my bed side, in case I wake up in the middle of the night with some earth-chattering ideas…

So, this week I am thankful for my journal and my friend Debbie giving me the idea to write thoughts down.

Thank you for stopping by today. Remember: maybe a journal would be great to converse with God and write from your heart.

Love & peace,
Iris

Sunday Worship ~ Shout to the Lord

There are many worship songs that I love to sing, but there is only one (contemporary) song that gets me every time we sing it in church. I really, really have to contain myself not to raise my hands. Don’t get me wrong, our congregation loves Jesus and is very passionate about sharing God’s Word with the world. We just don’t raise our hands often during worship music. That is just who we are and I truly believe that there is nothing wrong with that. However, ‘Shout to the Lord’, brings always tears of joy to me. There is nothing more powerful to know that God loves me so much, that He sent His son to die for me. And that song reminds me of it.

Do you have some songs that you absolutely love and remind you how wonderful our God is? Please do share with me in the comment section which one it is. For me, besides God’s Word, music is a powerful way to connect to God. How about you?

Love & peace,
Iris

Thankful Thursday ~ Reflection

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
(Psalm 19:14 ESV)

My friend Laurie at “Women Taking A Stand” is unable to host Thankful Thursday this week due to no Internet access. I am glad that you still stopped by today.

Psalm 19:14 is one of the Scripture passages I pray each morning before heading to work. It truly helps me to focus to Who I belong to. For me it is important that Christ is reflecting through me each day.

I believe that I had mentioned before that I keep a Scripture passage at my work station. When my day gets a little frazzled, I gaze at the Scripture passage to get me back on track.

I am thankful that His Word is available to me when I need it.

Thank you for stopping by today. Remember: Let His light reflect through you so that you may give hope to the people you come in contact with.

Love & peace
