I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart;

Honestly I could not come up with just one thing to write about this week for Thankful Thursday. There are just so many things on a daily basis I am thankful for .

In no particular order, here is my ‘random’ list from my thankful heart…

• God’s protection – not only for me, but for my family and friends. I had used the van pool for almost a year, but I had to switch back driving myself to work. I work often later than the hours of the van pool. God has been protecting me on the crazy roads of Arizona (you have no idea how wild these people drive).
• God providing our ‘daily bread’. We have a roof over our head, food to eat, money to pay the bills and help out others when needed.
• My husband’s love for me. You have to understand, I am a little ‘wild’ sometimes – I start dancing or start cracking jokes out of the blue.
• Our son’s independence. Sometimes I can’t believe that he will be 27 this June. He has done well for himself. And he is very smart with money. I just hope he changes his mind moving back to Europe this year. But then again, I just had him as a ‘loan’; God will guide his steps.
• My friends far and near, who don’t mind if I ask for prayers. I try to be a good friend as well as they are. I hope I am.

God is good – all the time. As you all know (or most of you), I work full-time at a very large corporate office. It is very hard to keep positive throughout the week.

Today I want to share about a friendship I have formed with one of my co-workers. I have prayed for a while for someone to talk to about Jesus at work. In today’s society you really have to be careful; you might get called into the HR office if you mention the name of Jesus to someone who does not believe.

Lori is an amazing woman of faith. I love talking to her. The great thing is that I can share with her what I am struggling with when reading the Bible. I am currently reading through Ezra (I am not so good with the Old Testament *sigh*). Lori just smiled when I mentioned that I have a hard time with the Old Testament; she makes me feel comfortable sharing and makes me feel I am not alone …

Today, I am very thankful that God placed Lori in my life. Goodness, I spend 70% of my time at work, so the support of another Christian is marvelous. Lori (in case you read this), you are awesome!!!! It is so nice to talk to you about our shared faith in Christ.

There are so many things to be thankful for, don’t you agree? In the US the ‘official’ Thanksgiving Day is celebrated today. But why should we wait for an entire year to give thanks? That is why we ‘meet’ once a week to share our thanks…I hope you will still join us this week for the ‘Thanksgiving Edition’ …

Today I want to share with you the things that just popped in my head this morning…the things we might take for granted on a day-to-day basis. So here it goes:

• I am thankful for God’s provision – not only salvation, but provision on a day-to-day basis — the ‘Daily Bread’. I so enjoy spending time with Him in the morning; it gives me the right perspective to start my day..
• I am thankful for my beloved. He still is my greatest cheerleader; even when I have a very bad photo session. He still encourages me and shows me ways how can ‘rescue’ photos…
• I am so thankful that our son is doing so well. It really was hard for me to really let go, but I know that he is in God’s hands now…
• I am thankful for the Internet. Not only can I connect with believers around the world, but I can share my faith with anyone who wants to read what I am writing about my Lord. I am also grateful because I can order stuff from my home-country Germany. I was so giddy this morning that I had to share with my friend in Florida. You know what I ordered? A German Bible and a study companion for the new year!!!!! Yes, I do I have a German Bible, but I wanted a more contemporary version (my German is a getting little rusty when it comes to reading )…
• I am thankful for my radio station. I love singing praises every morning going to work (and coming home)…
• I am thankful for our home. My dream-home? Hm, I would love to live closer to the beach (closest is in California). BUT I do have a roof over my head…
• I am thankful for my job. My dream-job? Hardly!!! But it helps to contribute to our household income to pay our bills etc. Maybe one day God will allow my dream to become my job (with God all things are possible)…
• Last but not least I am thankful for a four-day-weekend!!! Wahoo!!!!!

Paul’s letter to the Philippians has always been my favorite book of the Bible. First of all, it is a short letter to the believers so it is easy to remember passages from it. My favorite part? It is full of encouragement, not only for the Philippians back in Paul’s time, but also for us – the ‘contemporary’ Christian. When you have some time, I encourage you to memorize some Scripture passages from Philippians. Believe me; it can come in handy …

Today I am thankful for God’s life-giving words penned by Paul …

• Thank You Lord that although I might ‘suffer’ some set-backs in life, I am comforted that I am not the only one who might be attack by the enemy…
• Thank You Lord for my beloved husband. It is so wonderful that my beloved shares his passion of photography with me; showing me a new side of life. It helps me to see Your marvelous creation in a new light…
• Thank You Lord for the friends You have placed in my life. I want to especially thank You for my blogging sisters Laurel, Lynn, and Angie. Although all three of them have been struggling with their own bumps in the road of life; they never thought twice to encourage me, lift me up to Your throne of grace. Lord, continue to guide us, encourage each other, and keep our friendship strong. And Lord, if You see it fit, could you maybe arrange that we meet each other before we get to heaven?…
• Thank You Lord for giving me the courage to share on the WWW about Your gift of eternal life. I pray that You will help me to share more about you, not only on my blog, but in places that Your life-giving Word is needed. Help me to be bold in the name of Jesus…
• Thank You Lord for sending me little love notes when life gets me off track; when I get discouraged…
• And thank You Lord for giving my beloved and me the opportunity to leave the day-to-day life behind last weekend. Even though we only escaped the Valley for 10 hours, it was refreshing…
