Thankful Thursday ~ Random

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever! ~ Psalm 30:11-12 (ESV ~emphasis mine)

Wow – Thanksgiving is already next week. Hm…where did this year go?

Before I share my random list with you today, I would like you to know that I will not be hosting Thankful Thursday next week. You might wonder “why not?”. Oh, I have my reason 😛 …I will be still sharing my grateful heart with you next week, but I am participating in Heather’s “Giving Thanks on Thanksgiving 08”. I hope you will join us next week at Heather’s place. Regular Thankful Thursday will be back after Thanksgiving 😛 …

So, here is my list for this week…

  • I am thankful that I am loved by the King of kings. He loved me so much that He gave His one and only Son to die for me…
  • I am thankful for my beloved. I am so glad that he puts up with my clumsiness. Can you believe that I spilled coffee all over him? Well, I did. I think I am sometimes too much in a hurry — note to self “slow down”…
  • I am thankful for showers. Not only do they get me clean, but it is my favorite time of prayer…
  • I am thankful for a brand new Bible study by Beth Moore. I am very excited about it, because it has individual video lessons. The study is about the book of Esther. I am currently reading the Scripture passages. I am planning to do the study in January. Maybe a blog-study in Spring of 2009. But only God knows if that will happen…
  • I am thankful for a wonderful project the Lord has put on my heart. Most of you know that I am doing some digital scrapping (when I have time – hm – not so much lately). Anyway, I am working on a Faithbook – A-Z. I plan on having in professionally printed. The best part: my beloved is excited with me 😛 . I might share some pages here on my blog over the next several months…
  • I am thankful that next week is Thanksgiving — I only have to work 3 days next week – YEAH (can you see my jiggy dance 😆 ) …
  • And last but not least, I am thankful that one of my co-workers is back at work. That means that my work-load will get lighter – hopefully…

What are you thankful for this week? Please do share with us in leaving your link below…Before you ‘run’ off, would you do me a favor? It is Denise’s birthday – I hope you have some time to stop by her blog to wish her a wonderful birthday 🙂 ?

Thanks for stopping by. Remember: You are beautiful, you are loved and you are His. If I don’t ‘see’ you next – Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Thankful Thursday ~ His Word

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to keep your righteous rules. I am severely afflicted; give me life, O Lord, according to your word! Accept my freewill offerings of praise, O Lord, and teach me your rules.
~ Psalm 119:102-108 (emphasis mine) (ESV)

First, I would like to thank all of you who have been very patient with me over the last couple of months regarding my lack of visits to your sites…it is a long story and maybe I will blog about it some day…

I am so thrilled to see what the Lord is doing with Thankful Thursdays…it is so cool. Just think of it as a testimony to the world that even in the storms of life, He is the one Who holds us together. He gives us the ability to praise Him in the storm and through tears.

So, this week, I will give you a short list of Scripture passages (ESV version) that I am thankful for – all listed and more have held me together…

  • Strength – “I can do all things through him who strengthens me” – Philippians 4:13
  • Peace – “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:7
  • Grace – “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me..” – 2 Corinthians 12:9
  • Hope – “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11
  • Mercy – “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” – Psalm 23:6
  • Rest – “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28
  • Forgiveness – “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.” – Ephesians 1:7

As I had mentioned last week, I am doing a Bible study by Beth Moore. The study is called “Stepping Up”. The study is based on Psalms 120 through 134. If you are looking to do a study, I highly recommend this one. I am awaiting the member-book shipped by a dear friend (thank you Angie) since we don’t have a Lifeway store where I live.

So, what are you thankful for this week? Please do share with us by linking your post below…I am looking forward reading yours over the next couple of days…

Thank you for stopping by this week. Always remember – strength, peace, grace, hope, mercy, rest and forgiveness are at your fingertips…

Thankful Thursday ~ Joy

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”
~ Galatians 5:22-24 (ESV ~ emphasis mine)

Welcome back to Sting My Heart for Thankful Thursday. I was thrilled to see that you all visited my dear friend, Laurel last week. I am sorry that I can not offer you any brownies or coffee today…I do not bake. I know, I know, but that is one thing that I am not good at (among other things 😉 )…

Well, lets see–joy!!!! Laurel mentioned this past week (I forgot which post it was–or was it an email?), that she chooses joy every.single.morning. over her circumstances or moods. I think that is a splendid idea. So, I thought, why not going with that theme for my Thankful Thursday post…BTW, you can have your own theme if you like each week, or join in with me. So here it goes:

  • I am thankful for my Lord and Savior. Even though I mis-step some days more than others, He is still my Savior. How can I not be joyful over that fact…
  • I am thankful that when someone “steels” the joy I have in the Lord serving Him, others will stand in the gap to lift me up. I can count on that. I just have to be open enough to share with others…
  • I am thankful that I had some time last week to catch up on some reading. What a joy it was to read some encouraging words from some incredible writers…Especially Paul’s letters to the churches encouraged me deeply…
  • I am thankful that my Sweetheart went with me to the mall to buy new walking shoes for me. My body will enjoy the exercise while my feet will have great support…
  • I am thankful that Beth Moore is teaching on the book of Romans, which I can listen to once a week for free online at Oneplace.com. I can’t wait till Mondays to listen to the next lesson, pure joy…(btw – visit E-Mom for a wonderful article on Beth)
  • I am thankful that I learned more about Photoshop CS last week too. I really enjoy working with that software to create some neat things, like Scripture passage brushes. I hope to share them with you soon–for free…
  • I am thankful for our two new writers at Laced with Grace. Dana published her first devotional this past Saturday and Bernadine will join the team on the 30th of July. I hope you will embrace them as much as you have embraced the rest of the team. It makes my heart leap for joy to know that God uses the team to encourage you in your walk with Him…
  • Last, but not least, I am thankful for music. It gives me joy to listen to wonderful Christian artists like Crystal (I hope to share some great news with you next week regarding Crystal’s up-coming release) and “Monk & Neagle” (got my free CD this week – great stuff 😛 ) …

What are you thankful for this week? Please leave you link below to share with us. If you time permits, please do visit other participants. Thanks for dropping in today…

Be blessed today and as always…

Every Single Day

“Relying on God has to begin all over again every day as if nothing yet had been done.”
~C.S. Lewis~

The Webster dictionary defines “rely” as “to be dependent” or “to have confidence based on experience”.

The “confidence based on experience” is what really got to me.

You see, there a couple of areas in my life that I take to the throne of grace every.single.day. For a while I thought that there is something seriously wrong with me. Although I know that I can rely on God’s faithfulness to take care even of the littlest things in life, some I still hold onto.

One of my all-time favorite Bible study was Beth Moore’s “Believing God”. At one point we had to put down a time line to recount God’s faithfulness in our life. From the age of 8 until now, God was there every step of the way. I might not have seen His provision at times, but when I look back—His hands were there to guide me. Even when He moved me from Germany to Arizona…

I know that I can trust my Lord with everything in my life…maybe some areas I just need a little longer to leave at the foot of the cross.

“As for you, O Lord, you will not restrain your mercy from me;
your steadfast love and your faithfulness will ever preserve me!”
~ Psalm 40:11 (ESV)

Lord of Heaven and Earth. I pray that I will be able to leave the things I still hold onto at the foot of the cross very soon. Thank you Lord for allowing me to come to you on a daily basis to help me get rid of some riff-ruff in my life. I am trusting in Your mercy. In the precious name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior, I pray. ~ Amen.

My dear sisters, I am sorry that my thoughts might not connect tonight and don’t make sense. As I was writing my post for this week’s quote, we received a call from my MIL. My Sweetheart’s cousin’s wife died in a horrific car accident in Flagstaff, Arizona. Their little 4-year-old daughter survived the accident with a fractured arm, leg and skull. Please keep my Sweetheart’s cousin in your prayers as he morning the loss of his young wife. Please also keep their little girl in your prayers, as she now is growing up without her mom…Thank you…
