Thankful Thursday ~ Providence

“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” ~ Hebrews 1:3 (NIV)

  • I am thankful that God provided me (and all who believe in Him) with a Way to Heaven. I know that I can’t make it on my own. I could never keep all the commandments without sinning. You know, I have “Sandpaper People” IRL and online…they just rub me the wrong way. But God tells me to love my enemies. With His help I can do that…
  • I am thankful that my Sweetheart is saving faithfully every paycheck. Because of it we were able to purchase a dishwasher without using credit — yeah! We paid CASH! I am so happy – the dishwasher will be delivered on Saturday. The old one is 13 years old and the dishes are not getting clean any longer…
  • I am thankful for freedom of speech and religion. Especially writing on my personal blog. I can share about my faith in Christ, my marriage, my motherhood, my blogging friends, my life in general without being judged (maybe some do, thats okay)…
  • I am thankful that I have a job that helps to pay our bills. Although I was hoping for a different job within the company, I know in my heart that I am where God wants me to be…
  • I am thankful that we always have food on the table — sometimes more than enough…
  • I am thankful for praise music and my car. You wonder why I connect the two? You see, I use my car as my personal sanctuary during the week. It gets me focused on the day ahead in the morning. It helps me to ‘wind-down’ after a long day at the office…

What are you thankful for this week? If you have posted on your own blog a thankful list, please add your link below and leave a comment (pretty please 😛 ). Otherwise leave a comment what you are thankful for…

Blessings on your day and as always…

  1. Love the dishwasher, how cool is that!! I agree with number one I too am glad Jesus died for my sins also. Sorry it my TT is a little rough, it was a rough week…I really tired to make it positive =)

  2. “Sandpaper people”….GOOD ANALOGY IRIS!!! And aren’t they so important, as ‘they’ push us closer to the One who saved us?!! Amen to your thankfuls!!!

  3. I’ll have to go read about sandpaper people~I’ve got some of those in my life too. And I can sooooooo relate to listening to music while travel to and from work. I used to do that too. People used to look at me like I was crazy, raising a hand in the air at a stoplight!

My thankful is up too. Blessings to you.

  4. Great list. Congrats on being able to buy the dishwasher with cash…that is an awesome feeling. We are doing that now, only cash no credit and it feels great…I did my first post for Thankful Thursday. Thank you…Dana

  5. I am thankful that I have a job, especially in the difficult economy that is Michigan right now. I’m thankful for music also. It helps my commute to be easier. And I’m thankful for my church and my small group. We care about each other and are there for each other and it’s such a blessing.

  6. Freedom of speech and relgion are wonderful things aren’t they? We are so fortunate to have these simple, yet amazing freedoms!

    Congrats on the new dishwasher!!

  7. Oh Iris, I messed this up! I don’t have “thankful thursday” list; I just wanted to leave a comment, but I automatically filled in the little boxes anyway! Can you erase me? Sooooo sorry! DUH!

I WANTED to say that I am very thankful this week for friends – those I see in person and those I know online – they are a wonderful reminder to me that no one is alone in this life. There is a plan and, though none of us has a whole roadmap, we all encourage each other along the path towards a common goal.

That’s what I wanted to say before I screwed up the linky. Have a wonderful Thursday,
    DK

  8. oh YAH for dishwashers! i was without one for several months so when my hubby bought me one for christmas i did a little happy dance. i’m still dancing. eeeee!

  9. I’ll have to check this one on sandpaper. Might pick up a lot of tips on how to handle some people at work.

Your list is a lot to be thankful for.

    Cheers!

  10. I love this list! I wish I had room for a dishwasher in our kitchen. I AM THE DISHWASHER! I think that I should be replaced!LOL Blessings, Iris!

  11. This is my first time to participate in this. I got a bit mixed up, but I believe it’s straightened out now. Anywhoooo….I love you list. It is beautifully written. Thanks for providing a place to write our thanks

  12. I am thankful for sisters in Christ who exhort us to love our husbands.
Today was one of those days…thanks Lynn for encouraging us to look for things in our spouses to be thankful for. Thanks Iris for giving us a platform to express it!!!

    Hugs and kisses. 🙂

  13. I am thankful that I am able to pay cash for eveything that we own as well. It’s so hard to have to deal with bad debt. So if I want something and I can’t pay cash, i just don’t get it… then I save up for it 🙂 that way, i don’t get tied down with paying credit cards. God bless you, iris!

  14. What a great thankful list. I miss the days when I had a “car sanctuary”. Now with one car, and everyone needing it but me, I am rarely alone in it. In fact, I am rarely alone. But I am thankful that my home is big enough for all six of us, and I can still find a quiet corner. I am also thankful for the chance to sit down and be encouraged by reading so many great blogs. Thank you for inspiring me to be thankful.

  15. Amen, sister! Wow, what a great way to cultivate a Thankful heart…
Awesome list…I know that ALL of us could go on and on with our lists. If you’re LOOKING for things to be thankful for, they start popping out everywhere!! Have a lovely weekend!
