Tackled and Mission Accomplished Part I

Tackle It Banner

Well, Janice had a great idea and I started with my weekly nightmare. I don’t feel so bad anymore about my weekness in household chores, because I know what I am not alone (right?). You see, I do not like doing laundry very much (actually I don’t like it at all). And this past week I let it pile up again. Usually I wash laundry twice during the week (after work) and do the rest on the weekend. The washing is really not the problem – the IRONING is my weekness.

See what happens if I don’t do at least two loads during the week and iron the shirts as they are dry? I get my weekend mess. Than I end up doing laundry for an entire day and have to iron at least for couple of hours .

But if I am a good gal – my laundry room looks like this . Yes, much better.

Accomplished 1

Why I keep doing it to myself, I will never know. It is so much easier to keep up with the laundry than spending Memorial Day playing catch-up with it. Every time I spend an entire day, I tell myself: “Never again”. I do well for several weeks and than I relaps.

So, what did you tackle this week? Let me know in the comment section and I’ll add your link below. Thanks Janice for getting me motivated again to stay on-top with my laundry.

  1. Good work!! I do the same thing and put off my laundry and then end up with a huge job!

I need to do at least a few loads a day to not get behind – but i never keep up!

    Oh well! 🙂

I posted my Tackle It Tuesday and I included links to all those who I know are playing.

CONGRATS on a job well done!!

  2. I have to say that all the hard work I did in the past few weeks gettting ready for the kids really paid off. Once all were gone it was really easy to just put things back where they belong and run the vacumn. And my house is clean again! But I do have lots of extra sheets and towels to wash this week!

  3. Woo-hoo! Good for you. There are some chores in life that are just plain ‘ol not fun. I have a list. My list begins with ‘Laundry.’ In the middle of my list is ‘Laundry’. At the end of my list….’Laundry.’ yeah, there are a few other things sprinkled about in between, but none to rival that ‘L’ word.

Congrats on the accomplishment. Don’t it feel good? (I think I’ll go sort some clothes.)

  4. You did awesome 🙂 Am I nuts because I LOVE ironing? LOL

I hate laundry, I don’t mind washing it but I hate folding and putting it away, I DO however enjoying ironing LOL

I also played along, tackled my kids bedrooms and my Tackle it Tuesday is up 😉

  5. I am guilty of that too, and I am home all the time…I even LIKE to do laundry! LOL Though I am with the others, I dont buy things that need to be ironed for that very reason! 🙂

What a wonderful job you did…does it not make you soo proud when you can look and see all that you got done?

    Good work!

  6. Good job Iris! Laundry is the bain of my existence too. I might be doing a laundry post next week, we’ll see!

No go relax knowing that you’ve done good! 🙂

  7. You are not alone!! For me, doing the laundry isn’t the hard part, it is the folding and putting away that piles up on me on a bed in our spare bedroom!!!

  8. Oh my gosh girl…I’ll trade ya laundry piles any day!! =o) I’ll never post a picture of my laundry….or maybe I should? Maybe that would give me the motivation to finally get it tackled and DONE!

  9. I don’t do household chores much lately since we hired a maid and a nanny… but what I can say that I’ve tackled so far are the design projects that are due for submission already! Phew! It’s really getting harder and harder for me to do my work, what with a growing tummy, a painful back and several meetings I have to attend to during the week. But God takes good care of me and has given me a supportive and helpful hubby and son, as well as great household help to take care of the other tasks that I need to get done. 🙂

    Have a great week ahead!

  10. so great that you still made the rounds after a busy day at work. That was so kind of you!

Thanks for your encrouraging words about my table. It feel SOSOOO much better. Now I have one down and about 30+ more tasks till my house is somewhat tackled.

Is your T13 goign to be here or your other blog this week?

  11. Ugh, I am so bad with laundry…Even the clean stuff still stays in the basket…And don’t get me started on the ironing 🙁

  12. For a second there I thought you’d been in MY laundry room! I have the exact same hamper and it looks worse than your before picture….I have another hamper (a single one..I’m not that bad LOL!) sitting beside that one for the overflow! I’m pacing myself instead of trying to get it all done in one day 😀 Hopefully if I can keep up the pace it will eventually get caught up one day soon!

  13. That’s an empty hamper. Wow! Mission accomplished. I hate laundry too but no choice. It costs to pay for a laundry woman. Anyway I use the washer but not the automatic type. It’s the semi-automatic where you have to transfer washed clothes into the spin dry. Ironing I hate that even more. This I had to get an ironing woman who comes once a week.

  14. Hi – I’m TNChick, Mrs. No Iron. Nice to meet you. I also have let my laundry pile up – I’m ashamed to photograph the moment…

  15. The iron is permanently set up in my closet, and if it HAS to be ironed, it gets it right before it is put on. I tackled my fridge which I’ve been putting off for waaay too long.

  16. Ironing is not fun at all…no wonder you don’t like doing laundry…I manage to skip that bit actually…when I was on the road I had a rule…if it doesn’t go thru the washer and dryer and come out wearable I don’t want it. Works for me!!!

Oh I cheat now too…I found I can read blogs while folding laundry…(good excuse to fold laundry all day lol)
